Required To Craft An Observer
- 6 Cobblestones
- 2 Redstone dust
- 1 Nether quartz
Steps To Make An Observer
1. Open Your Crafting Menu
Open your crafting table so you see the 3x3 grid like in the image below.

2. Add Items to Crafting Table
With your crafting table open, we now need to place the 6 cobblestones, 2 redstone dust, and 1 nether quartz in the grid squares, just as they are shown in the image below.

It's important the items are placed in the squares exactly as shown in the image.
In the 1st row place down 3 cobblestones. In the 2nd row place down 1 redstone in the 1st box, 1 redstone in the 2nd box, and 1 nether quartz in the 3rd box. In the 3rd row place down 3 cobblestones. That is the Minecraft observer recipe.
After you've placed the items in the appropriate boxes, you'll notice an observer will appear in the box to the right.
3. Move The Observer To Your Inventory
Finally, click on your new observer and move it down to your inventory.

You now have yourself a Minecraft observer! A Minecraft observer emits a redstone signal whenever the block or fluid it's facing changes. Watch our video above to learn how to use it in the game!
