Materials Needed To Create A Trapdoor
- 6 Wood planks (any type) OR 4 iron ingots
* To create an iron trapdoor you will need four iron ingots, otherwise, choose the type of wood plank you want depending on the type of trapdoor you plan on making.
Steps To Make A Minecraft Trapdoor
1. Open Your Crafting Menu
To craft a trapdoor, you first need to open your crafting table in Minecraft. You should see the same grid as in the image below.
2. Add The 6 Wood Planks Or 4 Iron Ingots To The Menu
In the crafting table, add the materials to the grid.
You must add the items to the grid exactly as shown in the image below. In this example, we will build an oak trapdoor. Place down 3 oak wood blocks in the 2nd row and 3 oak wood blocks in the 3rd row. This is the Minecraft trapdoor recipe.
After you've added the items to the crafting grid as described above, you'll notice 2 trapdoors in the box on the right.
3. Move The Trapdoors To Your Inventory
Now, simply drag the trapdoors down to your inventory so you can use them.
You're finished! A Minecraft trapdoor is a solid block that can be opened either upward or downward, depending on how it's placed. You can make different types of trapdoors including iron, oak, spruce, jungle, birch, acacia, and dark oak trapdoors.
As with doors, a player can open and close wooden trapdoors, but iron trapdoors can only be opened with a redstone pulse.
