How To Get Flint In Minecraft

1. Find A Gravel Block

To make flint, we first need to find some gravel blocks. You can find gravel just about anywhere - underground, on beaches, near small bodies of water, rivers, and so on.

You'll want to find a block that looks like the one in the image below.

2. Mine The Gravel

Once you have found some gravel blocks, you need to mine them. This can be done with anything, including your hands, however, we recommend you use a shovel. And preferably a diamond shovel.

Continue mining the gravel blocks until flint appears.  Keep in mind, that there's only a 10% chance that flint will appear after mining a block of gravel. If using an enchanted tool, that increases to 14%.  Regardless, you will need to continue mining gravel blocks until flint appears.

3. Pick Up The Flint

Once you notice a small piece of flint appear, be sure to pick it up before it disappears. Congratulations, you now have flint! You can craft arrows, flint and steel, and a fletching table with Minecraft flint.
